Precautions For Sound-absorbing Panels

Apr 06, 2026

When installing sound-absorbing panels in elevator shafts, evenly apply the prepared slurry to the substrate requiring protection. For waterproofing the water-facing side, since potential seepage points are unpredictable, slightly increase the amount of slurry used to maximize the waterproof coating's impermeability, and pay attention to treating honeycomb-like substrates.

For waterproofing the back side, even minor leaks are easily detected; therefore, perform leak-stopping treatment before waterproofing.

Standard dosage: 1.2–1.5 kg per square meter.

Coating thickness: 1.0–1.2 mm.

Application requirements: Apply in one coat.

Pay attention to the cleanliness and moistening of the substrate (fully moistened, but without standing water). Before initial setting, the waterproof coating must be maintained by brushing back and forth with a water-dipped paintbrush or spraying a fine mist. This simultaneous application and maintenance is crucial. Coatings exposed to direct sunlight can be cured by spraying with clean water for 1–2 days.
